Grand Prix Series 2006

Presented by Ohana Road Runners

All Ohana events are part of the Ohana Grand Prix Series and are designed to please both walkers and runners. All are USA Track & Field (USATF) certified, scenic, and fun. We are thankful for the generosity of People Events in letting us use the People Event name and for listing these events on their site. If all organizers and running clubs would step up and list these events, Ohana would do much better for charity.

Official Rules for Cash Prizes

1. Ohana will put $1 into the Ohana Grand Prix (OGP) pot for each paid finisher up to 300 and $2 for every paid finisher from 301 on.
2. All finishers must have a paid entry to qualify for the Ohana Grand Prix Series cash prizes.
3. Points Male and Female:
   • 5 points for winning overall
   • 4 points for 1st in age division
   • 3 points for 2nd place
   • 2 points for 3rd place
   • 1 point for finishing
   Overall winner gets counted as 5 points and does not get additional points for their age category. Participants that place in multiple distances at the same event, such as a Mile and 5K combination, will get points for each distance.
4. When there are multiple distances, OGP pots will be split evenly between the male & female winners of each distance. $1 for each paid finisher will go into the OGP pot for each paid finisher up to 300. When the pot is $300 or less it moves forward to the end of the OGP to be split between the Male and Female OGP winners and there would be no cash prizes for that day's event. $2 for each paid finisher from 301 on goes into the OGP pot. At that point half the pot will be split between the male and female winners of the distances for that day's OGP pot and the balance moves forward to the end of the OGP.
   Example of a minimal cash prize: 320 finishers in the 5K and 30 finishers in the 1 Mile = 350 finishers. ((300 * $1) + (50 * $2)) = $400, This would be a split pot with the first $200 going to that day's winners and the second $200 would move forward. The Male and Female that earn the most points from their participation in all these events split the combined pot.
5. Point totals will be displayed with the results when they are posted on the web at http://www.OhanaRRCA.org/. Checks will be mailed after the appropriate tax reporting information is obtained and notices will be e-mailed to the Internet maillist.
6. Winners of cash prizes are required to provide all information required for tax reporting purposes. Refusal to comply will cause the participant to forfeit their winnings. Ohana will adhere to the advice of Ohana’s own tax advisors.
7. Raw Results at the event are subject to verification, because some registration and/or results information may prove to be erroneous. In any and all disputes, the decision of the Ohana Road Runners Club is final.

Final 2006 Standings:

1. Barbara Robbins with 16 pts., 1st female, wins $336, 1/2 of Grand Prix pot.
2. John Roberts with 12 pts., is 1st male, wins $336, 1/2 of Grand Prix pot.
